Australian Quakes and Aftershocks

http://www.news.com.au/breaking-news/more-aftershocks-rattle-north-queensland-after-52-magnitude-erathquake/story-e6frfku0-122604081

SEVERAL more aftershocks struck North Queensland in the early hours of this morning following the largest earthquake to hit the state in almost 70 years.

But they were so small it was expected no one would have even felt them.

Seismologist Steve Tatham from Geoscience Australia said three aftershocks of magnitude 2 or below were detected between 3.30am and 6am today.

He said the 5.2 magnitude earthquake that hit about 3.30pm on Saturday about 60km west of Bowen, 1100km north of Brisbane, was Queensland’s largest earthquake since 1935.

New Zealand, yeah, Australia, not so much. This sort of thing does not normally happen in Australia. Need to keep an eye on this going forward.
